We all experience difficulties throughout our lives such as stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief or relationship issues. We each, however, have a unique way of experiencing and dealing with these difficulties. For this reason I endeavour to employ a therapeutic approach that is informed by a variety of evidence-based theories and techniques, but that is ultimately tailored and individualised to each of my clients’ needs. Through providing my clients a safe and compassionate environment I encourage them to realise their inner strengths and abilities, and to use these to move towards where they want to be in life. One of my most important roles in therapy is to foster and empower change, well-being, psychological functioning, and psychological flexibility.
In my practice I use an integrative approach. This means that I integrate different therapeutic tools and approaches depending on my clients' needs and goals for therapy.
The main psychological therapies and techniques that I use are:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Person Centred Therapy (PCT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Mindfulness
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
Any therapies and/or therapeutic techniques that I use are soundly underpinned by humanistic and person-centred values that ultimately define who I am as a Counselling Psychologist.
